The Moving Women Empowerment Network supports African women and women of colour in Europe, Africa and globally to reach their potentials. It is a platform to share, educate and train women using evidenced based solutions to empower and support them for current and future roles in their societies.
This idea started in 2016 by the Sonne Intercultural Magazine team that launched an online campaign to commemorate International Women’s Day. The campaign featured and celebrated outstanding African women and women of colour in Germany and Europe, who are making a mark in their various professions.
In 2017 the campaign became a conference, the Moving Women Empowerment Conference, held in Munich city, which was well attended by African women and women of colour from all works of life in Germany, Switzerland, Austria and more.
Presently, we are building a network of vibrant women of African origin and women of colour in Europe, on the African continent and globally. We offer trainings, mentorship, networking opportunities and consultancy services on women’s empowerment topics both online and offline.

We empower African women and women of color in Europe and worldwide. It aims to encourage, build and strengthen women to perform better using their full potential to make their homes, communities, countries and the world a better place. Our organization supports women to acquire the skills they need to become meaningful people both in leadership and in-service capacities.
Our goal is to see women empowered, achieving their dreams and celebrating successes that will enhance their families and societies. We envision a world in which women are supported to become partners in contributing to the development of their communities.
